Friday Favorite: Find Me Gluten Free App

Click to share this with your friends or family!

On Fridays during the school year, I will share a favorite item from my gluten-free kitchen: a book, cookbook, gluten-free food or kitchen gadget or a roundup of favorite things from around the web. Hopefully you’ll find some new favorites to add to your gluten-free kitchen! While they may contain affiliate links, all Friday Favorites posts reflect my own opinion and are not sponsored by any individual or company.

Friday Favorite: Find Me Gluten Free App and website . This is a very helpful tool for planning your gluten-free travel!

Today I want to share with you my go-to resource for helping plan out where I can eat safely while traveling. I discovered the Find Me Gluten Free website and free app this past year. This site is the most comprehensive of any review sites I’ve seen and makes finding safe gluten-free restaurants so easy!

I love that you can easily search by city and state or zip code. Since I never know the zip codes of towns I’m traveling to, I just rely on the city and state.  I much prefer searching this site/app over Yelp and Urbanspoon because I KNOW all the results here are for places that offer gluten-free. Reading the user-submitted reviews helps me see whether they are places that are 100% gluten-free, or if they seem celiac friendly, or simply have a gluten-free menu. It takes a lot of the guess-work out of my initial searching. I can narrow down my options easily, and then with the places that aren’t 100% gluten-free, I will follow up with those restaurants individually.

I’m currently planning out a dream trip for later this year to Pennsylvania for my first time ever. (Actually, this will be my first time heading east of Kansas/Nebraska!!!) As I discover places that are safe to eat, via the Find Me Gluten Free site and app, then I add them to the Google Map I’m making of the area, plus I pin them to my Anniversary Trip to PA board on Pinterest! As the trip gets closer, I can go through and make my specific itinerary for when we’ll eat where, as I reference the map, Pinterest board, and app.

I definitely recommend you check out the Find Me Gluten Free site or download their free app to your mobile device.  Do you use Find Me Gluten Free already? Have you discovered a great place through it or left a review for one of your favorites? Tell me about it! Or tell me your favorite place I need to add to my trip plans!

This isn’t a sponsored post, and there aren’t any affiliate links in this post. I’m just sharing my honest opinion in hopes you enjoy this useful site/app!

I love FMGF too, and it's one of those things where the more people use it, the better it gets. (I'm behind on reviewing a few places, actually.) Funny, I was recently scrolling through the Philadelphia options just for kicks...looks like there's a ton of places for us gluten-freebies! Much better than NYC, honestly. You're going to have a great time, I predict. :)

Molly, I totally need to devote an hour to submitting a bunch of reviews also. I was pleased to find so many options in PA so I'm getting really excited!
